The ADEE Basic Sciences SIG has been in active for some time. The aim of this session is to explore the need to revitalise the SIG/COP and consdier updating the basic sciences core curriculum.

Professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology
University of Barcelona

Cristina graduated in Medicine in 1985 in the Autonomous University of Barcelona and then moved to Louvain (Belgium) where she obtained her PhD by the Catholic University of Louvain in 1988. Associated Professor of the newly founded Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Barcelona in 1989, she was promoted to Professor Titular of Human Anatomy and Embryology in 1992. Her main research interest lies in Bone biology, especially related to craniofacial development and osteointegration, and in the improvement of the teaching of Anatomy and Embryology in dental education.

Cristina was Secretary General as well as European Affairs Officer for ADEE.

Sean Goodman

Programme Director for Undergraduate Dental Programmes
University of Liverpool, UK

Dr Sean Goodman is Programme Director for Undergraduate Dental Programmes and Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Liverpool. He leads curriculum development across integrated basic and clinical sciences, with expertise in educational leadership, assessment design, quality assurance and inclusive curriculum transformation. Sean has extensive experience and scholarly interests in programme leadership, curriculum review and educational scholarship, with interests in enquiry-based learning, equitable curriculum and assessment for learning. He is Co-Chair of the Microbiology Society's Education & Outreach Network and promoting evidence-informed, collaborative approaches to science education internationally.
