For 25 years I have been doing research, teaching and specialist healthcare at the Univ. of Zagreb School of Dental Med. (Full Professor of OralMedicine and Vice-Dean for International Collaboration and coordinator of Dental Medicine Study Program in English) and at University Hospital Center Zagreb (Oral Medicine Consultant).
Dear Colleagues,
It is a true privilege to serve as ADEE president for 2026–2027. Looking back at the last half-century, it is inspiring to see how much we have grown. Programs like our Graduating European Dentist curriculum, the LEADER school visits, and the European Journal of Dental Education continue to thrive - all thanks to the dedication of our member schools.
Right now, dental education is changing faster than ever. Technologies like AI and virtual reality offer great ways to improve teaching, But our profession will also greatly benefit if we strive to adapt our curricula to focus on public oral health and underserved communities. Our future patients must be at the very center of everything we do. This means training dentists who are not only skilled technically, but also highly knowledgeable about complex medical issues and deeply empathetic toward medically vulnerable patients.
During my first year, I will lead the board in creating our strategic plan for the next decade. We will tackle these modern challenges, but our foundation will remain the same: collaboration, consensus, and community.Above all, I am here to listen to your voices, concerns, and ideas.
Please feel free to reach out through the office, or let’s chat in person at our annual meetings in 2026 or 2027!
