FEHDD Summer Session

The summer meeting of FEHDD (The Forum of European Heads and Dental Deans). As a global community of dental schools leaders, we continually encounter new social, economic, and environmental challenges, driven by accelerating globalization and rapid technological advancements. These challenges offer numerous opportunities for the advancement of the dental teaching field and for preparing the upcoming generations of health providers. While we cannot entirely predict the future, we can be prepared to embrace it. We invite you to join us for a thought-provoking forum where we will examine the current Competency Framework for aspiring deans and heads of dental schools, and work together to update its relevance in today's world. Our discussions will explore the impact and opportunities presented by various influencing factors and how they might shape the future of this Competency framework: The impact of the WHO action plan on competency The evolving role of advocacy for deans The importance of self-care for deans Technological competence in the Al era for deans The effects of changing political agendas on the dean's role The rising awareness of student mental health and its implications for the dean's role We value your knowledge and expertise and encourage you to reflect on these themes in light of your own role and aspirations. Come prepared to engage in meaningful discussions and contribute to shaping the future of dental education. We look forward to your active participation and insights.

Science meets Industry: GC & KU Leuven

Science meets Industry: an information workshop session on injection moulding techniques and how to teach them. Delegates are invited by GC Europe to join them at the European Head Quarters located just 20 minutes from Leuven to explore innovative ways in teaching injection moulding techniques to undergraduate students. Your transportation, lunch and all costs are very kindly supported by GD Europe. Places are limited to 50 persons on a first come first served basis. The event is subject to a non refundable booking fee of €50 to secure your place and avoid no shows on this limited capacity event.  Anterior restorations with high esthetic demands are a common challenge to most clinicians in their daily practice. Traditional layering techniques require training, experience and skills together with long clinic times. Unfortunately the this technique often gives unpredictable results with possible re-works and unhappy patients. The alternative is to choose for indirect restorations which comes with superior aesthetics but require an extra clinical session and result in higher costs related to the laboratory works. The injection moulding technique is a novel process ideal to treat wear cases and to recreate complex morphologies in both the anterior and posterior regions with optimal aesthetics using a transparent silicone material and an injectable resin composite with high flexural strength and wear resistance. The aim of this lecture is to present an easy and predictable technique that will enable clinicians to create direct restorations as aesthetic as indirect ones, but created in a quicker and more affordable way while using less invasive preparations. This session is kindly supported by GC Europe. The ADEE executive and members are most appreciative of this support.
