  • Framing question: “What should every postgraduate dentist be able to do in research?”
09.10 – 09.20 Review of Curriculum Mapping Findings

Presentation of key findings from review of publicly available postgraduate curricula

  • Common curriculum domains, e.g. methodology, critical appraisal, dissemination
  • Areas of variability, e.g. data science, patient involvement, impact
  • Gaps, e.g. patient-centred outcomes, research translation
09.20 – 10.00 Survey review and refinement

Whole-group or small group activity: Review of survey drafts and refinement prior to dissemination post-conference.

  • Survey 1: Patients — what should a postgraduate student be able to do in research?
  • Survey 2: Multistakeholder — what should a postgraduate student be able to do in research?

Professor and Honorary Consultant in Orthodontics

Jenny Galloway is Professor and Honorary Consultant in Orthodontics at the University of Glasgow. She is a clinical academic with a PhD from Cardiff University and specialist orthodontic qualifications (MOrth, FDS Orthodontics). Professor Galloway’s work sits at the interface of orthodontics, digital innovation, and education. She currently leads the Special Interest Group for ADEE aiming to develop a common research curriculum for postgraduate dental education.  She is the Orthodontic Head of Department at the University of Glasgow and was previous Programme Lead for the MScD in Orthodontics at Cardiff University. She plays a leading role in orthodontic education, contributing to curriculum development, widening participation initiatives, and training across undergraduate, postgraduate, and clinical programmes.
