THE SURVEY IS DESIGNED FOR DENTAL STUDENTS and POST-GRADUATES (max.2 years post graduation) STUDYING IN ONE OF THE 35 MEMBER COUNTRIES OF THE EUROPEAN DENTAL STUDENTS ASSOCIATION.
In 2016, EDSA reached out to European Dental Students to accumulate information regarding their clinical training and many differences were highlighted. Being that the question of European Diplomas and clinical training continues to be a prevalent topic in the dentistry and healthcare fields, EDSA (European Dental Student's Association) is reaching out to its 35 member country students once again to collect information on their studies and update this data. Through this survey, EDSA is asking students (and under 2 year post-graduates) to reply to questions concerning their universities and their training covering:
- General Information
- International relationships
- Their academic training according to the Graduating European Dentist Curriculum of the ADEE (Association of Dental Educators of Europe)
- Their preclinical practical training (hands-on not observation)
- Their clinical practical training (hands-on not observation)
- Their graduation (active vocational training/internships and thesis)
The aim of this data collection is to highlight whether students feel as though they are sufficiently trained in different aspects of their education. The goal is to highlight eventual differences between the member countries. This information will allow us to produce an EDSA - European Guide of Dental Studies designed to accumulate as much information as possible concerning the undergraduate dental education in our member countries and therefore better represent the Student Voice through EDSA's different platforms.
It is important to acknowledge that such information can vary from one university to another, but the overarching goal of this guide is to provide a general overview of the dentistry courses offered in each country. To add to that, EDSA is interested in the student opinion on the quantity of their training and how autonomous they feel regarding different procedures. EDSA expects this survey to highlight differences between member countries and universities and therefore allow their Board of Directors to identify the areas in which the Dental Education can be improved.
No ranking, judgements or rating will be published regarding any particular dental school. We therefore ask you to answer with sincerity and we encourage all participants to verify the exactitude of their responses.
