ADEE is delighted to formally announce that the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, Faculté de Médecine Dentaire, Beirut, Lebanon has successfully completed an initial school visit cycle under the ADEE LEADER programme and is now formally recognised as an ADEE LEADER participant.
LEADER is a formal commitment by dental academic institution to the enabling of continuous quality improvement within their programme and approach to dental education. In recognising Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, Faculté de Médecine Dentaire the review panel led by Professor Cristina Manzanares (University of Barcelona, Spain) commend the dean and faculty for their efforts and commitment to the betterment of dental education and to the population they and their students as future dentists will serve. The panel also acknowledged that considerable work on improvement is ongoing in a very difficult and challenging environment.
The panel further recognise the ambition of the strategy the Faculty has selected which takes a strong stance on internationalisation and a commitment to quality. Such views align very well with the ADEE commitment to excellence, emphasis on collaboration and consensus making. However, we understand that achieving these ambitions is a long- term plan which requires resources, commitment and shared motivation to reshape existing structures and activities.
On receiving notice of their acceptance on the LEADER programme following the site visitation, Nada Farhat Mouchayleh Dean at the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, Faculté de Médecine Dentaire, expressed her gratitude to her entire team for their input into the LEADER process and their efforts to continually improve the services they deliver to students and the public. She is confident LEADER is only a step on the Université Saint-Joseph de Beyrouth, Faculté de Médecine Dentaire journey towards quality and excellence.
