Association for Dental Education in Europe

Learning together to improve oral health and quality of life

Preparing for the third stakeholder meeting

Meeting of the GED Stakeholders

24th September Dublin, Ireland

We very much look forward to exploring the curriculum components of GED further at our next event in a few weeks, hosted by Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and supported by FEDCAR, the Irish Dental Council, and the Chief Dental Officers of Ireland for their support in enabling this particular event be recognised as a formal side event to Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union

Our work together in Copenhagen began to explore the capabilities of a Graduating European Dentist (paper attached). What we now need, is a common understanding of what capability looks like - and how it applied in varied local contexts

Our plans for the day explore three main workstreams

  • the '5000' training hours
  • Effective clinical placements
  • The utility of simulation

Our delegates have been asked to familiarise themselves with a number of deep dive literature reviews, and other materials, in preparation for discussion at the workshop.
