ADEE General Assembly Publishes Strategy

ADEE’s new strategic plan 2022 to 2025 ‘Dental Education: Navigating The Crossroads’, was approved by the association's general assembly on Friday 14th October. Speaking at the assembly ADEE President Professor Päl Barkvoll, expressed the hope that members would engage and enable the delivery of the strategy through participation in calls for working groups and consultations over the coming years. He highlighted that this is a time of considerable change for the education of oral health professionals and ADEE has a valuable role to play.

Invitation to join ‘Reducing inequalities - Bridging the gap’, Special Care Dentistry session

Members are invited to join a free online session in collaboration with the International Association of Disability in Oral Health, South East Association for Dental Education, Organisation for Faculties, Dental Schools, Departments and Institutes of Odontology in Latin America and the Caribbean and Industry partners Dentsply Sirona. The session brings together a panel of international experts from education, practice and advocacy in the area of Special Care Dentistry and features speakers from the World Health Organisation.

ADEE Executive Appointments

Following the association’s general assembly we are pleased to announce appointments to the ADEE Executive from 2023:
Prof Brian O’Connell Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, has been elected President Elect 2023 and ADEE President 2024-2025. Prof O’Connell is current President of IADR, former dean of the School of Dental Science at TCD, Professor of Prosthodontics and Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontics.
Prof Livia Ottolenghi, Dean of the Dental School, Sapienza University of Rome, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Professor of Preventive and Community Dentistry and Italian Chief Dental Officer will join the Executive for a three year term commencing 1st Jan 2023.
Dr Elene Gigineishvili, Head of the Dentistry Department at the University of Georgia, accreditation and authorisation expert at the National Center for Quality Enhancement (NCEQE) of Georgia and member of the Supervisory Board of the Dentistry Clinic of the University of Georgia, also joins as ADEE Executive Committee member commencing 1st Jan 2023 for a three year term.

The ADEE executive and office look forward to working with them all over the coming years!

 

Liverpool 2023, Call for Content Phase 1

If you are chair of a current ADEE Special Interest Group, or Community of Practice and would like to avail of a 90 minute session at ADEE 2023 in Liverpool, now is the time contact us with your outline session programme, aims and objectives.
