Prof Mariano Sanz is Professor and Chair of Department of Dental Clinical Specialities (DECO), Director of ETEP (Etiology and Therapy of Periodontal and Periimplant Diseases) Research Group at the Faculty of Odontology in the University Complutense of Madrid, Spain. Prof Sanz is Specialist in Stomatology (Universidad Complutense de Madrid (DDS)), Specialist in.Periodontology (University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA)) and Doctor en Medicine (PhD degree, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (DrMed)).
He is a respected clinician and educator in the area of periodontology and implantology for many years having published more than 350 scientific articles and book chapters in Periodontology, Implant Dentistry and Dental Education. Prof Sanz has also held senior leadership roles with both ADEE (Sec General & President) and the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) (Secretary General) and has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from the Universities of San Sebastian (Chile), Goteborg (Sweden), Coimbra (Portugal), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Warsaw (Poland), the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) (Secretary General) and has received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from the Universities of San Sebastian (Chile), Goteborg (Sweden), Coimbra (Portugal), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Warsaw (Poland).
