At the ADEE Awards Celebration Evening in Berlin German on Thursday 22nd August 2019 the 2019 ADEE Oral B Inter professional Educator award was presented to Ms Clare Mcilwaine from Peninsula Dental School, University of Plymouth.
Clare is currently BSc DTH Programme Lead, Peninsula Dental School Clare, holds an MSc in Clinical Education, a diploma in Dental Hygiene and therapy and a national certificate in dental nursing as well as a Senior Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy UK. She is the first non dentist to receive this award from ADEE.
In doing so ADEE is recognising Clare’s considerable work in the creation and delivery of an IPE focused curriculum the BSc Dental Therapy and Hygiene (DTH) at Peninsula Dental School where All teaching, learning and assessment are shared within the Scope of Practice of a DTH and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) student.
In awarding Clare, ADEE is recognising true teamwork and her dedication and passion for the concept and indeed delivery of an Inter professional Education approach. ADEE congratulates Clare on her achievements to date and looks forward watching her career develop in IPE.
