Session synopsis: 
Get ADEE 2024 off to a healthy start with a walk or run through the streets of Leuven with education colleagues.

Meet outside Leuven town hall between 07:15 to 07:25 and join colleagues in a 5K run through the streets of Leuven. We will have two paced groups to cater for all level of runners. The route takes you from Grote Markt with the town hall and St Peter's Church, past M-Museum Leuven and the university library to the Great Beguinage.

Please note that by taking part in this event, you are declaring you are fit to do so, have the appropriate running attire and footwear.  You should be in good fitness and have appropriate insurance in place.

In attending this element of the programme you acknowledge that ADEE holds no responsibility for this other than facilitating a group of colleagues to connect to run. You agree to abide by local laws and regulations in place for running in public and will follow the instructions of the lead runners at all times.

James Field

Professor in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education
Cardiff University

Prof James Field is currently a Professor in Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education and also the Cardiff University School of Dentistry's Director of Digital Education. He is a long-term active member of ADEE having most recently co-chaired the very successful Bridging the Clinical Gap special interest group and workshop.

James is academic lead for the ADEE European DigEdDent (Digital Education in Dentistry) portal, was lead author for the ADEE's Graduating European Dentist Curriculum Taskforce and Global lead for Shaping The Future of Dental Education: Interprofessional Education stream. He also represents Cardiff University as the trans-national partner in O-Health-Edu, an Erasmus+ K2 project to harmonise dental education across Europe.

Katleen Vandamme

Professor of Restorative Dentistry – Implant Prosthodontics
KU Leuven, Belgium

Katleen is professor of Restorative Dentistry of the Department of Oral Health Sciences at the KU Leuven Belgium, where she is involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education and training in oral implantology. She also holds the position of Coordinator of the Institute of Osseointegration KU Leuven. Her research interests include evidence-based dentistry,  mechanobiology in implant osseointegration, bone biology (in particular impaired bone conditions such as diabetes), skeletal tissue engineering, and teaching modalities and analytics. Katleen is president of BVOI/SBIO (Belgische Vereniging voor Orale Implantologie/Société Belge de l’Implantologie Orale), Education Delegate of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) BeLux. Katleen is a member of ADEE's regional council and is the chair of this year’s ADEE local organising committee.
