In memoriam of Prof. Dr. Thomas Marthaler

Colleagues will be saddened to hear of the passing of Prof Dr Thomas Marthaler passed away on 13th of November 2020 at the age of 91 years. Professor Marthaler, always took an international and scientific approach to dentistry, and was a pioneers in cariology. He was driven by the question of how to prevent the enormous burden of dental caries in many highly developed countries, instead of treating the damage caries caused. ADEE colleagues will know of Professor Marthaler for his work with ORCA and you can read the ORCA Obituary here. ADEE expresses our deepest sympathy to Professor Marthaler's family and friends, may he rest in peace.
