Session synopsis:

The European Journal of Dental Education is the official journal of the Association for Dental Education in Europe. Whilst the Journal focuses on the European experience, its relevance is global and contributions are invited on a worldwide basis. EJDE publishes original articles and commentaries concerning curriculum development, teaching methodologies, assessment strategies or techniques, and quality assurance in the fields of dental undergraduate and postgraduate education and dental auxiliary personnel training. The scope includes the dental educational aspects of the basic medical sciences, the behavioural sciences, inter-professional education, information technology, distance learning and educational audit. Papers embodying the results of high-quality educational research of relevance to dentistry are particularly encouraged as are evidence-based reports of novel and established educational programmes and their outcomes.  One volume of four issues is published annually with 2022 seeing the publication of Volume 26.

To effectively delivery the Journal, ADEE and the journal editorial board rely heavily on the volunteer peer reviewers. Join this session with Dr Gorter and Prof Quinn along with other members of the editorial board as they recount the role, responsibilities and benefits of being an EDJE peer reviewer. We will share with you what you can expect to have to do and how you can use this to advance your academic career.
